Sherry Nelson, MSN, NP-C is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as an Adult-Gero Nurse Practitioner.  She is a 2nd career nurse practitioner, after working 7 years as a research chemist in biotech and pharmaceutical research, she return to school for her RN.  She worked as a critical care nurse for 4 years, and then as a cardiac research nurse at Rush University Medical Center while earning her post graduate certification for Adult-gerontology.  She spent 3 years as a primary care provider on Chicago’s south and west side.   She worked in all three locations of the Asante Coumadin clinic for 5 years before joining Southern Oregon Cardiology.

Sherry believes in patient-centered care, and is passionate about patient education.  She believes in shared decision making and empowering patients to be active participants in their medical care.

Sherry was born and raised in Chicago IL, and misses proper hotdogs and people who know how to drive no matter what the weather condition.  Since moving to Southern Oregon, she has grown to appreciate the Rogue Valley.  She volunteers at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and has learned to enjoy hiking, backpacking, and woodworking.
